To answer this question correctly, students must explain how the document is related to both World War I and the United Nations. For Question 1, students should explain that the League of Nations was established as part of the Treaty of Versailles that formally ended World War I or that one of the purposes of the League of Nations was to prevent a second world war. For Question 2, students must also see that the United Nations was a successor to the League of Nations following World War II.
